Gather what you need
Open your Baby Fingers kit. You'll find the Child ID Card and the baby-safe ink pad inside. Have a small recent photo of your child ready — passport-sized or smaller works perfectly.
A photo taken on your phone and printed at home is fine. Trim it to fit the photo space on the card.
Fill in your child's details
Using a ballpoint pen, carefully complete each field on the card: your child's full name, date of birth, your name as parent or guardian, and your emergency contact number.
Write clearly and firmly. The card has a smooth surface — rest it on a hard, flat table for the neatest result.
Attach the photo
Trim your child's photo to fit the designated photo space and attach it securely. A small amount of glue or double-sided tape works well.
Choose a clear, recent photo that shows your child's face. Update the card as your child grows.
Capture the fingerprint
Open the baby-safe ink pad. Gently press your child's right index finger onto the pad, then press it firmly and evenly onto the fingerprint area of the card. Lift straight up for a clean impression.
Roll the finger very slightly from side to side to capture the full print. Wipe the finger clean with a damp cloth — the ink comes off easily.
Allow to dry, then store safely
Leave the card flat for a minute or two to let the ink dry fully. Once dry, slip it into your wallet, purse, or emergency file — and keep it somewhere you'll always have it.
